A yoga workshop for runners!
Most of us understand that we should balance out our running training with ‘conditioning’ work but we’re maybe not as good at actioning this as we could be…
As a yoga teacher teaching runners, there are a few complaints I hear over and over from students — typically related to tight hamstrings and calves, impossible hips, a weak core and lazy or tight glutes. And while it’s no miracle cure, I’ve seen first-hand the benefits of practising yoga as a runner — in loosening muscles yes, but also in building significant strength and in learning to breathe more easily (all of which of course helps contribute to the reduction of injury!).
In this two-hour workshop then, we’ll look at the asana (yoga poses), pranayama (breathwork) and styles of yoga (hatha, vinyasa, yin) that will benefit you most as a runner, as well as establishing how best to practise them. You’ll leave knowing that, whether in class or at home, you’re practising safely and you’ll also understand how you might build your own warm-up or cool-down routines to incorporate into your training regime.
Price: £20 per person
