The Grand Pier has teamed up with Double Olympic gold medalist, James Cracknell OBE to host a brand-new and truly one-of-a-kind community running event; The Weston Super Half.
The Weston Super Half will take place on Sunday 18th March at 9.30am and will set off from Marine Parade, just outside the entrance to The Grand Pier. The 13.1m single lap, closed road, fast and relatively flat half marathon race will take in the glorious sites of Weston-Super-Mare and the surrounding picturesque Somerset villages and countryside before heading back to the Waterfront. The pièce de résistance of the event will be a totally unique opportunity to finish quarter of a mile out to sea, at the end of The Grand Pier.
Whilst the race is on, supporters can enjoy The Grand Pier’s many rides and attractions or simply enjoy the view. Once the runners are back, The Pier will be a hive of activity with space to unwind and relax, replenish those calories in one of the many food outlets or just max out the fun packed day and stay to enjoy all the fun of the fair.
