Starting at The Nant Ddu Lodge (we plan to have some snacks there at the end of the day) we'll walk a route that will see us rather alone for a good deal of the day despite walking to the summit of the highest mountain in Southern Britain, Pen y Fan.
We'll follow the Nant Crew past dome delightful pools before striking uphill and gaining the ridge. Here we will descend to nevada Reservoir and cross it's dam and the remains of Welsh Water workings.
We'll head up the Roman Road and skirt around Cribyn before the second uphill of the day to the summit of Pen y Fan. From here it's downhill all the way to the start point and we are sure Andy will then twist your arms for a stop off at The Nant Ddu Lodge for a cuppa or something stronger :)
This is a fine mountain day with two steep ascents and one steep descent and with a fair proportion of the walk being cross country, so moving over open ground or along sheep tracks.
You will need walking boots, waterproofs and a good packed lunch.
