It's likely this will be seen as a strenuous walk but we don't think it has to be…
We will meet at Pengenffordd, a small community five kilometres south of Talgarth and follow paths and lanes and wide open areas of common land to the foot of Rhiw y Fan or Lord Herefords Knob (they're side by side) and then ascend to our high point of the day before following the ridge down and down and finally exploring Castell Dinas before returning to our vehicles.
You see — only one ascent :) This is a great walk and one that is not often offered, we're not sure why. Observing a sharp escarpment before gaining it's heady heights is a thing to be treasured.
You will need walking boots and waterproofs and a good packed lunch.
