This lecture and demonstration will introduce Positive Psychology – sometimes known as “the science of happiness”. People really do have the power to increase their happiness, and happier people have greater resilience and experience less stress. This session will use a number of practical activities to help you understand why some people are happier than others and it will teach you a number of practical skills that you can use to increase your own level of happiness.
Professor Neil Frude is a consultant clinical psychologist who has a special interest in using positive psychology techniques to help people who are struggling emotionally. He has written a number of books and also occasionally appears as a stand-up comic – most recently in his 2017 Edinburgh Fringe show “The Future of Desire”.
